Outlaws in No Man’s Sky
Outlaws is update 3.85 and represents the team’s next step in a longer journey, with more features to come, and more quality of life changes to follow. Outlaws adds pirate stations, a new class of ship: Solar, to the mix and revamps space combat, adds squadron members (and much more) – once again – Hello Games packs in a whole smorgasbord of things and changes into the game for free.
First Steps: Elden Ring
From Software are known these days for Dark Souls, or the *Souls-like genre of games which are marked by their tough encounters, difficulty, and tricky systems to master. You can learn them, but you won’t master them for a long time. People in my circle, fellow gamers and console nerds gave me some odd looks the other day when I dropped a pre-order for Elden Ring down.
No Man’s Sky: Sentinel
Hello Games, out of the blue once again hit No Man’s Sky players with a surprise update. Sean Murray, the absolute master of social media hype these days (though he doesn’t like to admit it) began with a tweet, it was either a water pistol to some on the Bird App, or a revolver from the Old West. It was a gun though, and this fuelled the community speculation on what it might be for several days as the dance of tweets, Re-tweets and Sean’s trademark engagement with his fanbase began.
Night City in Next-Gen
Until Tuesday Feb 15th 2022 – when CDPR smacked onto the net with their latest Night City Cyberpunk live stream, revealing not only 1.5 but Next Generation version gameplay as well. They capped this off with the words: download now, and offered a trial version of the game complete with progression saving so you don’t need to start again.
Spotlight: Jonny Hodgson Illustrator
You can’t go more than a few books in the RPG industry without finding some amazing art, it’s true, these days many of the books have production values that various companies can only aspire to. I remember being blown away by the art in Cubicle 7’s previous edition of The One Ring RPG and this turned my attention to the work of Jonny Hodgson.
No Man’s Sky comes to Switch this Summer
This is about Hello Games, but not the Jack story. This is about No Man’s Sky and the incredible feat that it has to have taken to put this procedurally generated space game exploration and chillax journey onto Nintendo Switch.
Three Video Games with Building/Creation
Minecraft isn’t the only game in town, it has a lot of clones and it has a lot of games that have been inspired by it.
So today, I wanted to look at three games that have a focus on building and exploration in various ways, and are not Minecraft Clones at all.
Three February Video Game Releases
The drought of games is almost over, you know the one we mean. Happens usually through January and can sometimes roll on through Feb, and even March in some cases. What with big-name games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 being put way back to December this year, and Saint’s Row reboot set for August unless there are more delays, there’s a few titles rolling out in Feb that I felt were worth talking about.
Microsoft to Acquire Activision-Blizzard King in landmark deal of $68.7 billion
In a landmark moment of gaming history, and of 2022, the year’s off to one heck of a start as Microsoft has agreed to acquire beleaguered gaming developer/publisher Activision-Blizzard King. A huge $68.7 billion is one of gaming’s biggest buyouts and brings legendary franchises such as Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, and more directly under the control of Microsoft.
Three Diablo-style Games to Play
With the controversy surrounding Activision Blizzard these days, it’s hard to go back to a lot of their games, especially the likes of Diablo. With the recent release of Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 being the only newer Diablo that people have had to play for ages – and people not wanting to part with their hard-earned money to buy either Diablo 2: R or Diablo 3, due to Blizzard’s terrible work conditions and harassment of its employees – what can you play instead?
