Outlaws in No Man’s Sky
Outlaws is update 3.85 and represents the team’s next step in a longer journey, with more features to come, and more quality of life changes to follow. Outlaws adds pirate stations, a new class of ship: Solar, to the mix and revamps space combat, adds squadron members (and much more) – once again – Hello Games packs in a whole smorgasbord of things and changes into the game for free.
Second Steps: Elden Ring
The Lands Between are an unforgiving place in Elden Ring, with much of the lore wrapped up in various quests, side-quests, and locations which require dedication to get to. It’s a beautiful game, starkly so at times, and delivers some of the most rewarding exploration I’ve experienced in an open world game to date. It really isn’t going to be for everyone, and for as many people as I’ve seen laud the game as one of FromSoft’s best since Sekiro, there are dozens who bounce off it harder than heavy attack from a greatshield.
First Steps: Elden Ring
From Software are known these days for Dark Souls, or the *Souls-like genre of games which are marked by their tough encounters, difficulty, and tricky systems to master. You can learn them, but you won’t master them for a long time. People in my circle, fellow gamers and console nerds gave me some odd looks the other day when I dropped a pre-order for Elden Ring down.
Night City in Next-Gen
Until Tuesday Feb 15th 2022 – when CDPR smacked onto the net with their latest Night City Cyberpunk live stream, revealing not only 1.5 but Next Generation version gameplay as well. They capped this off with the words: download now, and offered a trial version of the game complete with progression saving so you don’t need to start again.
Three Video Games with Building/Creation
Minecraft isn’t the only game in town, it has a lot of clones and it has a lot of games that have been inspired by it.
So today, I wanted to look at three games that have a focus on building and exploration in various ways, and are not Minecraft Clones at all.
Microsoft to Acquire Activision-Blizzard King in landmark deal of $68.7 billion
In a landmark moment of gaming history, and of 2022, the year’s off to one heck of a start as Microsoft has agreed to acquire beleaguered gaming developer/publisher Activision-Blizzard King. A huge $68.7 billion is one of gaming’s biggest buyouts and brings legendary franchises such as Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, and more directly under the control of Microsoft.
True Colors gives us hope for the future of gaming
Unlike previous instalments, Life is Strange: True Colors is coming in its entirety at launch and a slightly more expensive edition of the game will be available, which bundles in a bunch of DLC and more importantly gives you access to the Life is Strange: Remastered collection.
